PRECIPICE - HERMITAGE OF FATHER VILLALTA - BARRANCO - ERMITA DEL PADRE VILLALTA

Formerly this church was a small chapel, to which humble fishermen went and travellers, who taking a break to its workings, they asked for the intermediation of God to his anguishes. Its origin is confused with the legend that motivated the origin of Precipice. One says that certain time left a group fishermen to fulfill its task, but as it were winter and the fog covered all coast the fishermen disoriented and were lost several hours, until the distant spot they saw a shining light which they went managing to arrive at the border and to be saved. When coming near to the place where that light was originated that had guided them, they verified that one was a cross and from that time became instead of romería.
