WATERFALL "LA CHINATA"


The waterfall "La Chinata", is a wonderful water veil that is given off from a height of 580 meters, whose name means “spring that falls of the sky”.

The geographic surroundings in which is located this cataract are uniques and it is characterized by the diversity in his flora, emphasizing between these, orquídeas, ferns and mosses.

Located on the altitude of 1.300 m.s.n.m., the waterfall is one of main tourist attractive of the Bongará Province. If we takes as a point of reference the city of Chachapoyas, it is necessary to go towards the city of "Pedro Ruiz Gallo", at where is possible to arrived by land (car); in 90 minutes approximately, from "Pedro Ruiz Gallo" it is necessary to cross 07 kilometers up to the district of "San Carlos"; in 20 minutes by land. From "San Carlos", the distance to the waterfall is 12 kilometers which are crossed on foot, approximately 2 hours of long walk.
