FIRST CHURCH OF HUACAR, SAN MIGUEL ARCANGEL


The First Church of Huácar, in tribute to its santo patron, San Miguel Arcangel, is one of oldest and first churches of Huánuco, date from the 1.600 year approx. and it was constructed by the Franciscanos parents.

In the interior of the temple; of single an atmosphere, it emphasizes particularly, the Greater Altar, of baroque style, with fillets golden in plaster, presents/displays three bodies with columns salomónicamente ornamented with clusters of grapes. Interrupting the entablamiento of first stage, a hornacina is introduced, in which it is the image of the Purest Virgin, flanked by San Antonio and Santo Domingo.

Down in first stage are the images of San Miguel Arcángel; who is patrono of the Church and the town of Huácar, they also are imagenenes of San Francisco de Asi's and Santa Rosa of Lima.
