THE TEMPLE OF THE QORICANCHA

The writing of quechua to the Castilian apparently represents a difficulty for the linguistas, in relation to the name of this building I have found up to four forms to write it: Koricancha, Korikancha, Qoricancha and Coricancha. The translation to Castilian of this word quechua is of "PAVING OF GOLD". "SOLAR DE ORO".

KORICANCHA
KORICANCHA
The convent of Santo Domingo of the Cusco is the religious but old construction of the Southern America. It was founded on the walls of the famous Koricancha by year 1540. When the Spaniards arrived at the Cusco, Capital of the Empire of the Incas, the conquerors made distribution of the wealth, and the lots of all the city as conquest booty; touching the Koricancha to the brother of Francisco Pizarro, the captain Juan Pizarro, who later I donate this lot to Fray Juan de Olias, Dominican Missionary who venia of the Dominican Province Santa Cruz de Mexico, together with 12 friars that was in charge to construct the convent of Santo Domingo, from where they left to evangelizar the towns of the high provinces of the Cusco. At the moment it is possible to be appreciated in this convent, the wonderful architecture Inca, together with the Spanish architecture, which constitutes a sample of our racially mixed culture.

KORICANCHA
KORICANCHA
The Koricancha, "gold enclosure", Temple of the Sun, quiza I do not get to be but great nor but the imposing one of the buildings constructed by the Incas, but to be the Temple of the Sun, but it was venerated and respected.

FUENTE CEREMONIAL
CEREMONIAL SOURCE
Colonial source worked by indigena hand, tapeworm the function of I deposit of water; it is of octagonal form and quadrangular base. Some cronistas affirm that it is of incaico origin, that in her governed of Empire or Extreme Priest HUILLAC UMA vertia chicha like offering for its father the INTI.

RECINTO DEL ARCO IRIS
ENCLOSURE OF THE RAINBOW
In this photo; to the bottom, one is a first denominated enclosure, ENCLOSURE Of the Rainbow, because one thought that this procedia of the East Sun acclimates was upholstered in gold: on a plate that cubria everything a wall was the arc of the sky painted with its seven colors. ROOM OF SACRIFICES: Soon of the enclosure of the rainbow, an ample space exists, whose function specifies is not known. In the average part of this enclosure a litico, traido element of the sacred garden exists, and for that reason this room is well-known like place of sacrifices. In the inferior part of the wall three wrought orifices exist affluent that servian like water drainage. ENCLOSURE Of the RAY, THUNDER And RELAMPAGO: I complete of the enclosures whose access despone of three doors, was destined to one of the important divinities, was the thunderclap, relampago, and the ray, to which called collectively like INTI ILLAPA. This enclosure was dediicado to the Inti Illapa, in cultured him rendia, offering ritual sacrifices to him.

KORICANCHA I

To the bottom of this galeria is the TEMPLE OF the MOON, in the average part is the DOOR Or SACRED ALLEY, and to the height of our visitor the TEMPLE OF STARS is located. THE TEMPLE OF THE MOON: The moon ademas of being considered like sister and woman of the sun, recibio of God ILLA TECSE WIRACOCHA leaves from its divinity, becoming patron of the childbirth of the women and reigns of the sky. The moon was imagined in woman form, and asi was carved the representation that of her habia in this enclosure. Its cult was in charge of the women. DOOR Or SACRED ALLEY: Beautiful Inka passage that gave access to the important enclosure but of the Koricancha. They emphasize three liticos blocks mainly that they count on but of thirty angulos. One of them magnificamente shows to twenty-four angulos and six sides. The inverted form is also impressive that shows the end of the passage.

TEMPLO DE LAS ESTRELLAS
TEMPLE OF STARS
Aqui we are within the temple of stars. The stars, servants of the moon, daughters of the Sun and the Moon. One considered them like divinities. Creia that the stars were a simil put in the sky which they correspondian to all the Earth animals; it is to say: all animal thought that that existia in the Earth tapeworm a resemblance in the sky.

TEMPLO DE LAS ESTRELLAS I
TEMPLE OF STARS
In the average part of the TEMPLE OF STARS, this ceremonial hornacina is observed where they emphasize orifices, echos works in low relief and auquenidos oseos rest of, this hornacina this located in direct relation when coming out of the sun in the Solstice of Winter, Celebration of the Inti. On this hornacina it is necessary to stand out, perfeccion in the cut or carving of the stone, which seems to be cut by a powerful diamond, staying the intact edges, without polishing. Also, it is necessary to emphasize perfeccion in the design of the orifices, which seem to be perforated by a powerful drill, having the care of not breaking the stone by the force that is applied.

TEMPLO DE LAS ESTRELLAS II
TEMPLE OF STARS
The TEMPLE OF STARS in all its magnificencia. Between the two you complete doors is located the hornacina. To the right margin of this taking is the DOOR Or SACRED ALLEY. But atras is the TEMPLE OF the MOON. This photo this in inverse sense to the one of the fourth taking.

TEMPLO DEL SOL
TEMPLE OF THE SUN
In this aposento of it found idolo to pave or representation of supreme God WIRACOCHA or God PUNCHAO, some momias Incas took care of the enclosure, and mamaconas or priestesses of the Sun servian of guardians of this temple that is but the important one of arqueologico complex. Maestria in the work of the stone is reflected in the design and contruccion of this enclosure which as they podran to appreciate in the right margin of this photo finds a stone wall in vertical form, whereas the other wall is curved, without angulo straight of union.

TEMPLO DEL SOL
A Vista by outside the TEMPLE Of the SUN.
On the inside as they habran appreciated, the construction has caida vertical, but by outside the curvature of the wall is appraised clearly, asi like angulo of inclination of the same one. On this temple and the stone constructions made by the Incas, we must stand out that there is no material between the unions of the stone blocks that form these walls, and that the space between block and block of stone practicamente does not exist. It is like to have taken a giant stone, to cut it indeed (measured exact) and soon to come to arm them in a predetermined place.

JARDINES SAGRADOS Y FUENTES
SACRED GARDENS And SOURCES
In the low part part of the sacred gardens is appraised, in time of the Incas, these gardens were decorated with elements of the flora and fauna of the empire of the TAHUANTINSUYO: works made in gold and silver.

JARDINES SAGRADOS Y FUENTES
SACRED GARDENS And SOURCES
SOURCES: In this taking one of the sources located in the sacred garden is appraised. In the festividad of the Sun mayoria of the tribes conquered by the Inca arrived in peregrination at the capital bringing offerings from gold and silver, and works made in clay, such that were received in these gardens.
